Crosswalks are a great place for me to shoot from the hip and catch candid shots of people going about their daily business. I take advantage of the fact most people don’t blink at the sight of someone with a camera, especially in Manhattan; we get loads of tourists, so it’s a common sight. Shooting from the hip or waist also makes my camera less conspicuous, which makes it easier to document life as it happens.
