Looking Up At Time

Posted on 3 February 202631 January 2026
2025 September 18. Chicago (Illinois), USA.

In case I wondered what time it was while waiting for the bus, this gigantic clock was available to tell me the time.

Can we bring back this kind of architecture? It gives cities far more character and is far more beautiful to my eyes than sterile glass and steel structures do and are.

I am still sharing photos from Chicago on my Patreon. Join my Patreon to see them.

I remember more ‘civic’ clocks in San Diego in my youth.

I need more decorative wall clocks—practical art!

Flatiron blocks are rare in California. Wonder why. I’m near a Catholic church (with a large Pinoy attendance, as it is close to the Philippine cultural center, in Japantown San Jose) which sounds the hours between 8am to an endpoint of which I am unsure, but between 6-8pm is my guess.
