As I have noticed the ageism in society at large I have noticed how it has subconsciously affected my approach to street photography. If you can believe the media, people above the age of 35 do not exist in New York City unless they are homeless. That is an unbalanced representation of the real world, not to mention wholly disrespectful of the beauty and contributions of people above that age. I may not be able to change the world, but I can do better at presenting a balanced view of life via my art. So when I go out with my camera lately I look for and photograph mature adults going about their daily lives.
