Entering 180th Street Station

Posted on 22 January 201819 January 2018

When I shoot street photography with my 50mm lens I like to shoot at F2.0. This shallow depth of field allows me to use a faster shutter speed and slightly blurs everything except my subject. It’s especially nice when the subject is a person, but in this case the subject is the turnstile entrance to the station.

Come to think of it, I need to do this one day when there are people streaming through the station. That will be an interesting shot. The only problem is I tend to think about it when I am on my way somewhere and don’t have time to stop and shoot. I’ll just have to make the time.

Bronx (NY), USA. 8 January 2018.
