Bronx Landmarks

Posted on 6 November 20186 November 2018

In the Parkchester section of the Bronx there are a couple of notable landmarks. One is Saint Raymond’s, a parish established in 1842 by Rev. John Hughes. The current building was completed in 1898.

Another is the fountain at Metropolitan Oval, which is in the centre of the Parkchester apartment complex. Named “Fantasia”, the fountain was designed by Raymond Granville and installed in 1941. These photos are on the largest part of the fountain. Other, smaller elements are located outside the frame.
