Most of the time I like to make my street photos in black and white. I prefer color for this one, because it adds to the New York City feel of the photo: the orange subway car seats contrasting the black floor, and the way the person’s coat compliments them both. Changing it to black and white bleeds that meaning away from the shot. Since the colors do not distract from the couple in the foreground, I left it with just a mild desaturation and blue tint for a slightly nostalgic or even gritty feel.
