A, B, C What They Did There?

Posted on 11 July 20189 July 2018

Alphabet City is a neighborhood located between Avenues A and D and 14th and Houston Streets on Manhattan’s lower east side. This 3-and-a-half year old mural of the alphabet is to some a vast improvement over the graffiti tags which used to adorn the wall. To others it represents a territorial dispute between the owners of the wall and the community, who had backed a different mural idea to be done by a local artist. The Villager did an extensive writeup on the issue.

Avenue C and East 6th Street, 5 May 2018. New York City, USA.
