Installation photography interests me almost as much as street and event photography do. I enjoy finding ways to capture other people’s art while also giving a sense of place. If I can capture people interacting with the art, that is a bonus.
On 22 December 2018 I spent the day at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Brooklyn Museum. When I arrived I was greeted by the sight of Deborah Kass’ installation “OY/YO” on the lawn. I didn’t stick around long enough to photograph people interacting with the art, but I was able to give a sense of just how large the installation is by stepping back and photographing it in its environment.
