Watching the World Go By

Posted on 4 March 20191 March 2019
Looking up Metropolitan Avenue from the Number 6 Train platform at Hugh Grant Circle in Parkchester. 27 December 2018. Bronx (NY), USA.

From this elevated train platform one can watch the signs of the seasons changing as well as vehicular traffic and pedestrians below. More people could see this view, if the Parkchester train station was accessible, but alas, like 75% of the New York City subway system it is not. The MTA just voted to raise one-way fares to $3.00 with another raise in 2021. Will accessibility come to this major transportation hub in between now and 2021? Time will tell.
