From the pier at Coney Island I can look back towards the beach and amusement park and admire the sea of activity. Watching other people have fun in the water brings me joy, as does the sound of the surf rolling in from the Atlantic Ocean. Even though I live in the middle of a large city, it is wonderful to know the ocean isn’t far away.
