Cue the Magnolia

Posted on 27 May 202421 May 2024
2024 April 6. New York City, USA.

Spring is New York City means the magnolia trees in Central Park burst into bloom! Not long after I recovered from my first ever bout of COVID, I grabbed my camera and took the express bus in to Manhattan so I could stroll through the park. Last spring I was white-knuckling it through the last module of a 19-week coding bootcamp and missed the blooms. This year I made it a point to get out there. I’m very glad I did. The weather was mild, even though it was cloudy. We had some colder days afterwards, but that day was perfect for a park visit.

We’re at the end of May now, and the weather in New York City is beautifully mild most days. Speaking of which, if you’d like to check the weather here in New York City or anywhere else in the United States from wherever you are, check out this web app I made: Simple Weather. Enter the city and state, and the app will display the current date, time, weather, and temperature in both F and C. It’s a quick way to check what the weather is like in your city or your friends’ cities. I like to use it sometimes to see what weather my friends are experiencing. Happy weather-watching!
