A Moment of Relative Quiet

Posted on 30 October 20255 November 2025
Grand Central Terminal, 2025 October 8. New York City, USA.

The New York City subway system is rarely quiet and almost never empty. Most days this is about as empty as a busy station like Grand Central Terminal will get. Grand Central is a major stop for five different subway lines plus the Metro North and Long Island Rainroads. Catching a moment like this with few people on the platform is a fluke, and I didn’t want to waste it.

Looking for more photos from my Chicago trip? You’ll find them over on Patreon. I have loads more photos to share there over the next few weeks. Join Team LLFA to see just how similar downtown Chicago’s street photography scene through my lens is to New York City’s.
