Participants in the 2018 New York City Marathon turn the corner at Alexander Avenue and 138th Street just past Mile 20 as they make their way through the South Bronx. I saw people crying as they came around that corner. My hat is off to all of the runners, especially those finishers at the back of the pack who ran the last part of the race in the dark after the crowds had dispersed, the tracking had been turned off, and the streets were mostly reopened.
